Ride for the Heart
2009 Events
!

Since 2004 the Ride for the Heart Foundation, has grown and proved that there are many ways to ride for a great cause, meet many like minded riders and have a great time doing it. The events completed in 2008 were no exception. We are positive that if you join us on one of our future events you are guaranteed to have memorable times that you’ll talk about for years to come!

In 2009 we are mixing it up with a variety of types of rides; some are very different from what we’ve done before. Because of suggestions from our rider base, along with creative ides from the Directors of the Foundation, the following ride and event schedule represents what our all-volunteer staff has come up with. So, get out your calendar and start making plans to have the most fun-filled riding year ever.

July 16-19

(Event Information)

Following the tradition of a 1048 and 1072, the Ride for the Heart Foundation introduces our own format called 1096. The format is simple; let’s ride over a 1000 miles in four days. As a part of the SCMA California Parks Adventure, this is the second half of a year long event. Come join your fellow riders on an adventure of visiting several more National Parks within California.

Our planned event for 2009 will allow you the option of not only riding with us, but also riding and visiting some of the best parks in the United States. In conjunction with the SCMA (Southern California Motorcycle Association), the Ride for the Heart is offering two touring rides which will cover over half of the planned park locations included in the event. Weather or not you go to all 24 planned parks planned for the SCMA Event, you can be guaranteed a visit to some of the best locations in California and possibly the United States.

Our plan is to depart from Porterville, head north through Sequoia and King Canyon National Parks and end in Fresno our first night. The following morning we will ride through Yosemite through the Gold Country and ending in Fairfield, CA. Get up early for our third day of riding as we are visiting a total of five national parks near the San Francisco bay area. Our third night will end in Hollister, home of the Hollister Motorcycle rally. Our final day takes us south for a visit to Pinnacles National Monument and finally to our last park on this ride. Once you have stopped and checked in at Channel Islands National Park each rider is invited to a special Ride for the Heart hosted lunch to end your CalParks 1096.

As an option, you may purchase the SCMA California Parks Adventure package. This package includes a passport which you use at each park location. If you complete all 24 parks in your passport, you will be awarded a SCMA finisher plaque. It is not a requirement to purchase the California Parks Adventure package to enjoy the ride with us, but it will give you the opportunity to have an entire year of riding to some of the best spots in California. Many riders will be participating in the California Parks Adventure with us, how about you?

Your pre-registration includes a suggested ride route of approximately 1,000 miles, ride pin and t-shirt. If you participate in both the 1072 and 1096 you will receive a special dual event patch. Sign up of the SCMA California Parks Adventure includes a passport, SCMA Parks and AMA Grand Tour Pin (later in the year) and if you complete the entire 24 parks a finishers plaque.
